This is it! Our final drink of the 12 Drinks of Christmas. It’s called The Shadow.
We stopped by the relaxing Belle Vue Lounge at the Boardwalk Inn to try our final drink. If you’ve never been to the Belle Vue, they play old radio serials on vintage radio replicas. Back in the 1930’s, a show called The Shadow first aired, and that show is presumably the namesake for this cocktail made with Chambord, Godiva Chocolate Liqueur, Vanilla Vodka, and cream. This drink used to be found on the lounge’s cocktail menu, but they’ve since switched to the standard lounge menu so if you’d like to give this one a try, you’ll have to ask your bartender if they know how to make it.
This drink was described to us to be like a chocolate covered cherry. I’d say that fits pretty well, and out of all the cocktails we tried over the holidays, this one was my favorite. Though admittedly, as I have mentioned before, I do have a thing for Chambord. That being said, my companion, who is not the Chambord lover that I am, found this drink to be a satisfying treat as well.
That’s it for this year’s round of the 12 Drinks of Christmas. Hope you find something among them that you’d like to try yourself!
