This is our third, and final, holiday drink offering from Walt Disney World for the 12 Drinks of Christmas. It’s called the Snowball.
This Snowball is a different drink than the one some readers might be familiar with which is made with Advocaat and lemonade. The Snowball being served at the Studios is made from Kahlua, Bailey’s Irish Cream, Amaretto, Half and Half, and topped with whipped cream and cinnamon nutmeg. It was poured from a pre-mixed bottle, served over ice, and then topped with whipped cream and cinnamon nutmeg, which added to the dessert-like nature of it.
As suspected given the ingredients, the Snowball tasted similar to a mudslide served on the rocks. I was a little disappointed I couldn’t really taste the Amaretto, and wonder if a hand poured version might have allowed for that to come through a little better. Regardless, it tasted good and between the two holiday drinks we tried at High Octane, I would choose this one over the Sleigh Ride as the Snowball was much more like a holiday “treat.”
Tomorrow we’re going to head over to the Wilderness Lodge, where we tried one of the drinks off the new standard lounge menu.
