Today’s Beer of the World is a pale lager from the Kronenbourg Brewery in Strasberg, France, called Kronenbourg 1664. This beer can be found at several locations at the France Pavilion at Epcot, as well as Raglan Road at Downtown Disney.
The Kronenbourg Brewery website is definitely a bit different. There are several hotspots on a photo of the beer sitting on a table in the middle of a (presumably) French plaza, and the hotspots seem to take you around in one big (kind of strange) circle. However, there is also a set of more traditional navigation buttons that will provide you with access to information on the beer, some french culture items, news, commercials etc.
Here’s what they have to say about the beer:
Kronenbourg 1664 is a lager with a noble history, characterized by its fine taste. Its golden hues and delicate bitterness come from selecting the best hops (the Strisselspalt), and the unique know-how of one of the French master brewers, for over 300 years.
This beer has a higher average ABV of 5.90%. The folks at Beer Advocate seemed to enjoy this beer, giving it a score of 88, which qualifies it for a “Good” rating. The 404 reader reviews of this beer gave it an aggregate score of 73, which qualified it for an “Average” rating. I’m sure I have tried this beer before, but it has been several years. I’m going to make it a point to have another one the next time I’m in Epcot, and I’ll come back and update with my thoughts then.
