We go to Key West every summer. Love that place. Anyway, a Key Lime Coconut Martini sounded like a good Happy Hour drink for today.
You’re going to want a blender to mix up all this key lime goodness. Oh, and some crushed graham crackers if you want the full effect. Bartender Kate gave me her recipe for this fun drink:
2 oz. Midori Melon Liqueur
1 oz Stoli Vanil Vodka
2 oz Coco Lopez (Pina Colada mix)
2 oz. Pineapple Juice
One wedge worth of freshly squeezed lime Juice
Garnish with lime.
If you want the graham cracker rim, finely crush some graham crackers then take a wedge of lime and run it around the rim of the glass. Then take the glass and dip the rim in the crushed graham crackers. If you haven’t done it before, it’s a real simple thing to do and you can check out this short video which demonstrates it with sugar.
Kate also suggested if you weren’t interested in having the whole martini, or maybe just want to taste something similar, pick up some Keke Beach Key Lime Liqueur, which is great for shots.
Please, try this at home!
