(Seems a little sad to be posting this after Christmas and it’s an abbreviated version of what I had hoped to do, but with the happenings of Saturday we were a little short on time so we’ll just have to make sure to do it first thing next year.)
A monorail drinkathon is a fun time anyway, but when you add in some beautiful Christmas decorations to stop and look at between drinks, it’s even better. I do wish Disney made a little more effort to decorate the lounges themselves, but there is plenty to see between stops.
Disney’s Contemporary Resort:
The gingerbread tree with “It’s a Small World” inspired touches.
A throne fit for a Santa.
Some holiday treats for sale.
Disney’s Polynesian Resort:
Of the three monorail resorts, it seems the Polynesian gets the short end of the Christmas decorating stick, but the tropical flower wreaths are nice.
They also don’t have the room in the lobby for an extra large tree like some of the other deluxe resorts, but they do have some nice smaller trees around like this one which have tropical touches as well.
Where they are lacking in decorations, they make up for in their shots. Good pour at the Tambu.
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort:
Of course the hotel lobby to see each year is always the Grand Floridian.

And straight on:
And of course you can’t miss the gingerbread house.
We had a great time visiting the lounges and decorations at each of the hotels. Next year, we’ll be sure to do it before anything might prevent us from dawdling as much as we like.
